Designed for economy yet performance, the RCI-2985DX is the ideal in low power base tranceivers. Based on your requests for a low power, economical version of the RCI-2990DX, we are now introducing the RCI-2985DX. In order to create this low cost version, Ranger has removed the high power amplifier and features many people don't use or want to pay extra for, such as Echo and Talk Back. This makes it possible for us to offer a base transceiver at a very attractive price for a base station transceiver .

Similar to its big brother - the RCI-2995DX, this unit offers the same exceptional sound quality and large, easy-to-use controls. It also features all mode (AM-CW-FM-SSB) operation, variable power output control, noise blanker and built-in heavy-duty AC power supply.

The RCI-2985DX has an output power of 10 watts (RMS) for CW-AM-FM and 25 watts PEP for SSB. The economical RCI-2985DX also features a built-in digital frequency display, and a rear panel frequency meter output connector for measuring transmit operating frequency with an external frequency counter.

The RCI-2985DX offers microprocessor-based advanced features typically found in high-end units costing several times as much, such as multiple methods of frequency selection, programmable frequency memories and scanning of selected frequency segments or 10 stored frequencies. A programmable TX/Rx split function is also provided for 10 meter FM repeater operation. The RCI-2985DX is a great sounding and great looking unit for the serious operator. Each unit has a full complement of extra front panel extra features such as a clarifier for SSB operation, dual panel meters for display of received signal strength, transmitter power output and antenna SWR. Pushbutton selection of programming scanning functions, programmable repeater split for FM operation enhances the 10 meter FM repeater activity.
